Rik Adamski is President of ASH+LIME, a planning and placemaking advisory firm focused on downtown revitalization, public space strategy, and community-rooted economic development. He has led planning, activation, and implementation strategy work for dozens of downtowns and commercial districts in communities of all sizes, with an emphasis on practical, near-term actions that strengthen walkability, public life, and local business ecosystems.

Rik works at the intersection of placemaking, implementation strategy, and economic vitality. He advises cities, downtown organizations, and development teams on public space planning, activation of underutilized and non-traditional spaces, storefront economy revitalization, and high-impact public engagement that leads to visible on-the-ground results. His experience includes coordinating large-scale pilot and activation initiatives, guiding incremental use of vacant and underperforming sites, aligning parking and regulatory frameworks with walkable environments, and helping communities translate plans into feasible, phased action.

He is known for helping communities move from concept to execution—using targeted, cost-effective interventions to build momentum, test ideas, and support long-term investment in downtowns and neighborhood centers. Rik is a former Southeast Michigan resident.

Rik holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Cincinnati. He is a past President of the Congress for the New Urbanism North Texas chapter, a member of the Strong Towns Founding Circle, and has lectured at Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M, the University of Texas at Arlington, and other venues.
